Perseverance.
It truly defines someone embarking on a new venture.
Willingness to move forward with a new product.
A new challenge.
How about a physical product meant to entertain folks that are glued to their phones non-stop?
Andy Mazieka is no stranger to challenges, obstacles or making applesauce out of apples. Service academy cadet, Army officer, failed businesses owner, now creative mind and budding entreprenuer. Each of those desciptors would be enough for greater men to run the other way, but Andy finds plenty of reason to drive forward and pave a new way.

Tuesday Sep 11, 2018
Tuesday Sep 11, 2018
Some entreprenuers believe that you need to struggle before you make it. Some decide never to be a business owner, only to work for the man year after year. Derek Sisson, trained as a Recon Marine, leveraged the valuable lessons he learned in distributing, the leadership skills honed as a Marine, to extract the recipe for launching a brand. That success didn't come without it's challenges and experiences, most of which get buried and never shared to help other do the same thing, but Derek shares his with us today.
Merica Bourbon was made to share the great taste of freedom with family and friends, and remincing about the good times in life together. Check out more from Derek and Merica Bourbon at:

Your first year in business can feel overwhelming. There's so much uncertainty and can be alarmingly unsettling dealing with change. Navigating those waters for a hardened military vet like Nick Ripplinger wasn't easy. As a matter of fact, it was draining. But every one of those struggles and failures led to him winning.
Now having spent time developing strategies on transistioning, writing a book and launching a technology company he shares with us some of the lessons painfully earned through failure. E37 - Baseball, Beer, and Mistakes w/ Sean Busse
Tuesday Sep 04, 2018
Tuesday Sep 04, 2018
We had some fun with Austin entrepreneur Sean Busse for this podcast. Countless times, we find ourself failing to be objective about our capabilities and limit our growth to what we allow ourself to be vulnerable doing.
Sean spent most of his adolescence developing the skills to be a professional baseball player, although he didn't connect that pursuit with being an entrepreneur until later in life. A motorcycle accident almost ended his career, but was also the adversity he needed to overcome that laid the foundation for success he was set to experience as a business owner.
Daily discipline and a relentless passion for his country and freedom - enjoy another episode of Knucklehead Podcast with Sean Busse.

E35 - Overcoming the past, Culture Stick CEO Sean Allen
Wednesday Aug 29, 2018
Wednesday Aug 29, 2018
Larger than life. Shock and Awe. These phrases are thrown around so much that the impact of their meaning gets lost. It doesn't mean that every expereince doesn't leave you scratching your head with Sean, but you will most likely laugh! Leveraging past experiences from the Air Force, being a stellar and standout player at Southwest Airlines Sean Allen grew a consulting business in the Monroe, Louisiana area and has parlayed that success to networking groups in and near Austin, Texas.
Coming from a military upbringing, there's a bit of structure that can lead to an overrelyance on that structure, instead of being able to swim on your own, Sean Allen brings a perspective that you can laugh at, learn from and apply. Relating to people, he's been able to teach folks best practices on communication and how to rebound from communication mishaps.

E34 - Get off your A$$ and get with it, Scotty Gassner
Tuesday Aug 21, 2018
Tuesday Aug 21, 2018
Everyone of us has a struggle. There's a struggle to earn more. Struggle to kick a bad habit. Struggle to overcome objections. Struggle to move, to lift more, to be healthier - you name it, one of us has something they do too much of that they'd like to stop. Talking with someone that has perspective completely changed Scotty Gassner's outlook on life. Most wouuld simply call this therapy, however, it was an opportunity to make some reflective change that he needed in order to mature through some of his hangups. That's not a gentle, pillow filled process for those that have the thought to bear your soul to someone else in hopes that the tools they equip you with will move you along the growth curve. Yet, Scotty had courage. He perseverd through the challenges to start a successful training business and comedy career.
There's not a pair of shoes that were worth having that Scotty hasn't swooped up and owned. Part of being a phenominal dancer, hilarious comedian (They aren't all funny. He is.), and movement extrodianaire (think Ido Portal with out the man bun... wait, keep the man bun... lose the Conor Mcgregor) comes with it the doubt and fear associated with learning new things. Listen to Scotty's story and I'm sure you'll find yourself wanting to uncover the interest you've kept so close and guarded, or you'll seek some help working through the doubt to earn your way out of the problem you're in now.

E33 - Fight for YOU and life, Katelyn Miller
Wednesday Aug 15, 2018
Wednesday Aug 15, 2018
Katelyn served her country. As a sailor, she took it upon herself to be responsible and look out for the service member to her right and left. As is true in life, someone tried to ruin that service and her life in an instant. No amount of attention or empathy could change what happened to her, but she used an encounter with another service member to fuel her focus on bettering herself. She won over depression, PTSD, and a sexual assault to earn the confidence back that someone tried to steal with their selfish and gutless action.
Listen to courage as she barrels forward. Helping service members recover from PTSD to be productive citizens, become healthier with fitness, and live a happier lifestyle. Katelyn continues to work in the fitness business, hopes to open a gym dedicated to those that can be healed from the inside out, much like the transformation that has led her to be the inspriation she is today.
